Aurora finish is a multi stage finish. Its not anodizing but more of a platting put on the metal. Think of it as a colorful Chrome. It must require a special kind of care. Just like chrome platted rims or a chrome bumper. It will last a long time, but this is based on the abuse you give it. Its a great option if you take very good care of your gear. Nothing can compare to the Aurora finish. It will have a multi color rainbow effect. Expect blues and purples as the main coloring. You will also get shades of other colors. Its a very random process with a random color outcome. We have no way to get you more colors then another colors. In the sun it will also color shift. Like chrome, it can chip with hard impacts. There are 35 year old Aurora coated parts still looking great in peoples collections.

We have not ran into any threading issues or fitment issues. We watch every process to make sure the parts will work like they should.

Because of the multi stage process to pull off this Aurora finish, expect some very small markings from the racking process. We do our best to rack parts in places that you cant see. But some parts we have no choice on were to rack. Its never going to be as predictable or perfect as anodizing, but once you see finish in person...Its unreal.

This is a Freak XL barrel back. It will only work with Freak XL inserts and Freak XL barrel tips. Not the shorter Freak inserts (that we also stock)

The original Freak® system quickly grew into the most widely used and highly respected interchangeable bore barrel ever made. Through years of tournament proven performance it has been the benchmark of consistency, accuracy and flexibility.

The new Freak® XL builds on that legacy, combining user feedback with extensive research to deliver the next evolutionary step in the Freak® system with a longer control bore.

In a controlled test environment, paintballs fired through the Freak® XL exhibited an average velocity increase of 6 feet per second compared to those fired with the same dwell timing and pressure through an original Freak® with the same bore diameter and porting. This efficiency improvement allows the same velocity to be reached with a lower pressure burst of air, resulting in reduced recoil, reduced sound signature and reduced air impact on the paintball - simply by moving up to the Freak® XL system

XL BACKS Freak® XL backs are the foundation for each barrel. Available in a polished finish with GoG / Ion or Autococker thread patterns, Freak® XL backs are not compatible with original Freak® fronts or 5” inserts.

XL FRONTS The new XL® and All-American XL tips offer unique porting and styling options to fit individual player preferences. Both XL fronts are available in two different lengths, to build out 14-inch or 16-inch Freak® XL barrels. XL fronts are not compatible with original Freak® backs or 5-inch inserts.

XL INSERTS The Freak® XL inserts offer a full 8-inch control bore which is expertly honed from aerospace grade aluminum alloy and available in a complete range of bore sizes included with complete kit:

.679, .682, .684, .687, .689, .691, .693, and .695. Like the original Freak® , Freak® XL inserts are color-coded with a durable low-friction hard anodized finish and laser engraved for quick identification.

The Freak Back is the main interface between your marker and the Freak System. We offer barrel threading to match many of the most popular paintball markers on the market. All backs come in dust finish and are available in GOG/ION/Luxe, Autococker/Shocker RSX, Spyder, Tippmann 98 and Tippmann A-5 threads.

Special care should be taken in order to maintain the finish. The surface should only be cleaned with a damp micro fiber cloth and mild soap and water. Do not submerge in water as damage to electronics could occur. All rubber grips and/or covers, eye covers, levers or any device that can trap paint or debris needs to be removed and cleaned thoroughly. Do not leave any kind of dirt, paint, oil, grease or debris on marker as this can severely affect the quality and finish of the product.

***Note***

We take no responsibility for damage that has been done to your finish once it leaves our hands. It is your liability to make sure you keep your finish always clean and safe.

"Aurora Plating is a decorate finish that should not be used on the field, if you do decide to use your parts on the field, its a good idea to not use gloves. Gloves can hold and trap dirt that can effect the finish”

If you play hard and expect your finish to see abuse – This is not for you.
